About this project

threepointthreeseven is the collaborative project of artists Richard Hancock (UK)
and Julie Vulcan (AUS).

From 2nd to the 22nd of April 2007, The Pacitti Company (London) presented and produced
the premier festival SPILL. One of the major projects
was to stage Grand Finale. Most of the artists
spent the last week of SPILL, with Robert Pacitti,
in a task driven devising workshop, creating new
performance work to be presented within
the 'Finale' framework. The following was a response
to a provocation within the workshop, which in-turn
created another response and this project.

On April 16th 2007, Richard Hancock played a
favourite piece of music for the last time.
Its duration was 3.37 minutes.
This was an act of finality,
an exercise in self-obliteration, and an active inquiry
into a space for something new to grow.
This act was witnessed by Julie Vulcan.
Now, for 12 months, this space will be filled
by Vulcan's replaying of the music on the 16th day
of every month. Each time the date rolls around,
Hancock and Vulcan will dedicate 3.37 minutes
of time to the memory of this moment,
the potential of new space, and the here and now

On April 16th 2008, a month after the last response, Richard and Julie will share their thoughts on their journey and discuss their process as the project progressed.
